At the end of the process I was given the option of printingĪ Test Page. Selection window I chose the alternate HP deskjet 5600 driver. I then typed the name of the actual printer (hp photosmart 7600) even though the OS was using the alternate deskjet 5600 printer driver. I then went to the Windows 7 64bit laptop and did the following sequence: Start>Control Panel>Printers>Add printer> Add local Printer name via Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes>Right click on the photosmart 7660>Properties>Sharing Tab. However there is no selection for automatic two sided printing.

I was finally able to install the alternative drivers for my Photosmart 7660 printer. To the desktop and reconfirmed the host Computer Name via Start>My Computer>Properties>Computer Name tab. I now have access from my new laptop running Windows 7 64bit via our wireless local area network to my HP photosmart 7660 printer connected via cable to the host Dell desktop running Windows XP SP3 32bit. I need the procedure for installing this Deskjet 5600 printer-driver for my network printer.

HP also gave me a step-by-step procedure for installing this driver but it only covers the installation of a local USB printer and not a network
